Hiroshima 75th anniversary commemoration

The plan is to hold a rather different event this year. There will be a Socially-distanced vigil outside the Bentalls Centre on Thursday 6 August 2020 from 12 noon - 1pm

Then we will go to Canbury Gardens and at 1.30pm observe 2 minutes silence followed by floating white flowers on the river.

We hope you will be able to join us for the vigil and ceremony and stay afterwards for refreshments/picnic lunch in the gardens. Please bring your own picnic.

During the vigil we will hold posters reminding people that it's 75 years since the first atomic bomb was dropped, and of the urgent need for complete nuclear disarmament. It's hoped that in this way we can spread the message more widely. All welcome. Further info from Mary.
